Caretaking Job Opportunity - Room and Board Included
Hi, this is a repost and I apologize but since the last post was taken so poorly due to the mysteriousness of it, I am rewriting the post and making sure that it’s more professional and transparent. This is a job looking for a replacement and not the direct interview, although a recommendation from me would be extremely helpful in obtaining the job. The job is only available for SPRING and SUMMER 2025 semesters. This would be a good opportunity for those who are staying for an extra summer semester.
Job Description
You will be taking care of a mid-functioning autistic man (30+ years old) during two separate shifts. The early morning shift and late night shift. The early shift can be as early as 6AM to as late as 9AM and the late night shift can be as early as 9PM to as late as 11:45PM not including any special cases. The room that you will sleep in overnight is provided to you for free and breakfast is included. The pay is between $20-$21/hr between two different agencies and you would need to do paper work and go in the office once or twice to become a worker and paid.
Here are the responsibilities:
Early Shift (6AM-9AM)
Cook breakfast
Assist him in his laundry
Assist him in cleaning his room
Assist him with showering
*Assist does not require any direct touching, you usually verbally assist by just instructing him what to do except a few cases like shampoo*
Late Shift (9PM-11:45PM)
Make sure he stays within the house
Clean the house
Most of this shift is free time to yourself that is paid
Here are some requirements:
Resume

English Speaking
Patient
Can cook eggs (That’s his main breakfast)
Location
The location is 4 miles east from SBU and within biking/e-scooter range. There is a bus but I wouldn’t rely on it and you could walk but it’s about a 2 hour walk to school.
Top benefits
No rent/dorming, this is a major money saver for college students and makes this job extremely worth it.
Free breakfast
Flexible work schedule
One last important thing, the priority for the hire goes to applicants who will work both the Spring and Summer 2025 semesters. Students who are graduating then or have their last semesters being spring or summer 2025 will also gain a priority.
Contact/application information
If interested, please send a quick message to +1 (929) 435-3141, please have a resume ready, no need for references with me but you will need them when going through the proper interviews.
